All Kids Can Do Yoga!
Living in a constant state of sympathetic arousal can negatively impact heath, mood and behavior. The practice of yoga is for all levels of ability, and yet observed benefits to the autistic & special needs population, have reported an increase in the ability to gain life coping skills, a healthier response to stress, tension, worry, anxiety, anger and depression.
Resilient Spark applies yogic breathing techniques that align with yoga poses to support the student in activating the (PNS) parasympathetic nervous system. The PNS is responsible for rest and relaxation, emotional as well as digestive support.
Teaching diverse populations, yoga for all KIDS, is an interactive exercise. Yoga supports language communication, sensory integration, and improves fine/gross motor coordination skill levels. Resilient Spark Yoga can be facilitated between a teacher to a student and/or in an interactive group format.
Nichole is a RYT 200 Yoga Teacher Trainer working towards earning a yoga therapy focused 200 hour certification with Asanas for Autism and Special Needs ages 5-17 Spring 2021. Nichole currently serves as a practitioner providing services to families touched by autism.
