Vinyasa, Restorative & Yin Yoga
Practicing Vinyasa Yoga, the yogi connects the breath with an active flow of postures. Vinyasa classes offer a variety of postures and no two classes are ever alike. Yoga is the practice of being present, the goal not the asana pose!
Rest is a sacred act. Restorative yoga can be defined as: the patient approach to increasing mobility through slow movement asana poses. The student intuits the subtle shifts that occur while focusing on a particular connective tissue group called fascia. The slow, gentle exercises re-educate the nervous system allowing for the release of tight, restricted muscles, thereby promoting mobility.
Yin yoga compliments restorative asanas as it is a gentle extension of a yoga floor sequence. The Yin practice is slow, meditative, and designed to assist the student in feeling the benefits of yoga. The primary focus of Yin Yoga is on lengthening the connective tissues surrounding the hips and lower spine. Returning to mobility requires the courage to explore poses, commit to stillness, practice with compassion for self, and an attitude of non-attachment to the outcome.
Asanas for Kids Yoga
Teaching diverse populations, yoga for all KIDS, is an interactive exercise! Yoga supports language communication, sensory integration, and improves fine/gross motor coordination skill levels.
